The consumer preview of Microsoft Office 2013 (Office 15) has been released!
This new version of Office is ofcourse using the metro Windows 8 like user interface. I've been using the consumer preview for about 10 minutes because I really wanted to have this article online quickly. But in those 10 minutes I've seen quite a few obvious changes:
-The animation of the cursor (the vertical bar, that moves when you're typing). They have added a slight animation to the cursor which looks really nice.
- The Metro look which they have added to all of the Office programs.
- Speed, the new Office package seems to work a whole lot quicker.
- There are a lot more animations, Office 2010 barely had any animations when starting up one of the programs or when you where using the several programs.
- You're able to draw in the OneNote program.
When you've installed Office 15 you'll get a short animated video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vT503jUG4Y4&feature=player_embedded) which tells you that you've got acces to your Office 15 documents on the go and that your work made in Office 15 is saved in the cloud (Skydrive) which is connected to your Hotmail account. When you've watched that video, you're asked to set-up an account and to choose a theme for the Office 15 programs. Once you've finished the set-up of Office 15 Powerpoint will boot up.
I really like the new "Metro" look of Office 15 and this really increased my interest in Windows 8, the look and feel of the whole package is very nice and smooth and more important, it's extremely fast, it has short boot up times and previews load quickly. This version of Office also has a lot more different collors like you can see in some of the screenshots down below:
I'm really looking forward to the official release of Windows 8 and Office 15 and ofcourse I'll write another entry by then, the download link for the Consumer Preview is down below and so is the link for all of the screenshots I've made during the time I've been using Office 15.
All the screenshots I've made are in the link down below:

Flipboard for Android appeared today on the XDA forum, someone extracted the .apk file from a Galaxy S3 and posted it online.
Flipboard is a very populair news client/application on iOS and has been released for Android just this morning.
The Android app was confirmed last week during the Samsung Mobile world Congress in London, there they said that it would be and SGS3 exclusive app, luckily on of the XDA users was able to extract te file from his Galaxy S3 and posted it on the XDA forum where it has been downloaded for nearly 96000 times already. The app has great animations and works just very smooth, I love it.
(This app also works on phone's running android 2.3)
You can download Flipboard for your Android device here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1644212

Today on May 3th the Samsung Galaxy S3 has been shown to the world during the Samsung Mobile World Congress in London. Jean-Daniel Ayme says “the GS III is a phone that listen, sees and responds to our intentions. "That's the magic and the promise of the GS III."
It is equipped with a 1280x720p Super Amoled HD screen with a 4.8” size featuring a pixel density of 306 and Gorilla Glass 2. It still has the big hardware button on the bottom of the screen with the 2 touch menu and back keys. The phone "Sees you" "listens to you" and "understands you" by monitoring your eye movement.
The Galaxy S3 runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and has TouchWiz 5.0. I think they are also going to update the Galaxy S2 to TouchWiz 5.0 soon or at least I hope they will. The phone sees you, and listens to you, you can request weather information, directions, music and so on, you can also add 5 custom commands.
Smart tag is a feature that allows you to tag a friend on a photo and share through a text message or via Facebook.
S Beam is a feature that allows you to share files, websites and applications by just holding the back of 2 phones to each other using NFC technology.
Pop up play allows you to play a video on top of any app.
Group Cast allows you to share everything through people who are on the same WiFi network.
Smart Stay is a new feature that keeps your phone alive when you're interested in what you're doing. All through the front-facing camera that detects your face. "It sleeps when you sleep."
The Galaxy S3 is equipped with 2 amazing camera’s, a 8mp rear camera with zero shutter lag and 1080p HD recording, and a 1.9 mp HD (!!!) camera with zero shutter lag aswell. The burst feature allows you to take 20 shots with one touch with a rate of 3.3 shots per second. It takes only 1 second to get to the camera application.
The Galaxy S3 is a real competitor with the extremely fast HTC One X, because this phone has a 1.5 GHz Samsung Exynos 4412 ARM Cortex A9 quad core SoC processor . It comes in 2 (64gb version comes soon) versions, a 16gb version and a 32gb version and ofcourse a microSD slot which can contain memory cards up to 64gb.
The Galaxy S3 comes with a HUGE battery of 2100 mAH, where the S2 has only got a 1650 mAH battery. This really is a great advantage for the S3 as there aren’t much phone’s with such a huge battery. A really epic feature this phone has, is wireless charging which happens through a special dock.
It also comes with bluetooth 4.0, whereas the S2 has bluetooth 3.0.
The Galaxy S3 has an 8.6 mm body which is really thin and weighs only 133 grams and comes in 2 different colors: Pebble Blue and Marble White.
It’ll launch in Europe at May 29th, other continents will follow shortly.
